The man charged with the murder of Dublin schoolgirl Michaela Davis (12) appeared in court this morning.
In a brief appearance at Cloverhill District Court, Jonathan Byrne (18), Lohunda Downs, Clonsilla, Dublin, was remanded again to Cloverhill Prison to appear in court on September 24th.
Mr Byrne, who was dressed in a grey top and blue jeans, did not speak during the short hearing before Judge John Lindsay.
Mr Byrne appeared before Dublin District Court on Monday morning charged with the murder at Porterstown Road on Saturday last.
Det Sgt Daniel Callaghan gave details to the court on Monday of Mr Byrne’s arrest and charge.
Mr Byrne was arrested at Blanchardsown Garda station at 11.30pm on Sunday night and charged shortly afterwards. Mr Byrne made no reply when he was charged.
Mr Byrne was granted free legal aid.
The body of Michaela Davis was found on the bank of the Royal Canal close to her home in Porterstown on Saturday.
