Police launched an investigation tonight after the discovery of a man's body in a hotel room.

Police launched an investigation tonight after the discovery of a man's body in a hotel room.

The body was discovered in a bedroom at the Holiday Inn in Ormeau Avenue, Belfast, said a Police Service spokesman.

Police were treating the death as suspicious and it is understood death from ingesting some form of chemical was one line of inquiry being followed.

The man is believed to be local, but was not a member of staff. His name has not yet been released.
