Gardaí in Dublin are investigating after a man in his 30s was stabbed to death in Ballymun early this morning.

The body of the father of three, who lived locally, was discovered outside a house on St Joseph’s Way at about 4am following an argument between two families.

A group of people had left a house party in the area shortly before the incident occurred after complaints were made about noise.

Two men in their 20s and 30s and a woman in her 20s were also injured during the incident, and they were taken by ambulance to the Mater hospital.

One of the men sustained serious stab wounds, but the other two people are believed to be in a stable condition.

Neighbours at the scene this morning said there had been an ongoing dispute between the two families involved in the altercation.

The area around St Joseph’s Way has been sealed off, and members of the Garda Crime Scene Investigation Unit are examining the area, including a laneway close by.

Gardaí are conducting door-to-door inquiries, and appealing for witnesses to the incident.

Two men in their 20s have been arrested and are being detained at Ballymun Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

“He was a quiet man, a family man. It is a real tragedy, what happened,” one local man said.
