A man has been shot dead by police in Britain, Scotland Yard said today.
Police in Romford, Greater London, were called to an address in the town at 1.40pm and requested back-up from armed response officers.
A police spokesman said the man was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
“The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed and officers are at the scene. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has been informed,” the spokesman added.
