A man in his 20s was recovering in hospital in Limerick yesterday after the third night of shootings in a housing estate on the south side of the city.
And in an unrelated attack, a woman was lucky to escape injury when her home was shot at the same night.
The victim of the first attack on Sunday was injured during what was the third night of feud-related violence in the Southill area of Limerick city at the weekend.
The man was injured in the knee when shots were fired in the Southill area at 8.25pm on Sunday night.
He was taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital where his condition was described as "stable".
It is understood the shooting is connected with an ongoing feud between two families living in the Southill region.
At 11pm on Saturday night, a shot was fired into the front door of an unoccupied house in the O'Malley Park area of Southill.
The alarm was raised when the owner of the house returned the following morning and noticed the damage to the front door.
Local residents also reported hearing more gunshots in the O'Malley Park area on Friday night.
In a separate and unrelated attack, shots were fired into a house in Glasgow Park near Roxboro at about 9pm on Sunday.
A woman who was in the house at the time was not injured, according to a Garda spokesman.
It is believed the intended target was not at home at the time and gardaí are keeping an "open mind" as to the motive for the attack.
Meanwhile, gardaí on the opposite side of the city were investigating a third house fire in Moyross in 24 hours.
Three units of Limerick fire brigade battled with a blaze at Craeval Park for over two hours early yesterday morning.
