In the middle of the game, Tan suddenly demanded to know who had 'killed' his character.

When 16-year-old Mr Ng Qiyong confessed his character had carried out the virtual slaying, Tan stabbed the teen in the back following a scuffle. Qiyong needed stitches to the wound.

The Straits Times reported that Tan pleaded guilty to hurting his victim, as well as to consuming and possessing drugs.
