A man who was caught by gardaí trying to throw drugs, phones and Stanley blades into Mountjoy prison a day after he was released from it has had his sentence adjourned. Edward Byrne (21), Belcamp Crescent, Priorswood, Dublin, had just served three years for robbery when Garda Neil Cepeda spotted him on the roof of a house next to Mountjoy, throwing packages into the prison yard.
He told gardaí he was throwing in the parcels “for friends as a favour”.
