Juan Sebastian Veron's agent confirmed today that his client was ready to sign for Chelsea.
Manchester United agreed to sell the Argentinian playmaker to their west London rivals for stg£15m, accepting a loss in the region of £13million on the player they bought in 2001 from Lazio.
And, according to Veron's agent Fernando Hidalgo, the player was unlikely to set up any stumbling block to the move.
Hidalgo said: "The player will arrive in London at midday. He's going to take his medical tests and he will sign a four-year contract.
"He is happy. It has been a club (United) decision and he has accepted it. He is ready to do the best he can with this new opportunity at Chelsea."
Chelsea's deal with United came despite protestations from Old Trafford manager Sir Alex Ferguson last week that he did not want Veron to leave.
Hidalgo observed: "When decisions are made, everyone has to follow the consequences. Seba is proud to join Chelsea but it was not his intention to leave the club (United)."
United had confirmed the much-anticipated acceptance of the bid via the Stock Exchange this morning.
The deal will mean United have made a substantial loss on Veron, having bought him for £28.1million in July 2001 from Lazio.
The acquisition of Veron will take Chelsea's summer spending spree since the arrival of new owner Roman Abramovich to almost £60million.
Previous arrivals in that period at Stamford Bridge include Damien Duff for £17million, Geremi for £7million, Wayne Bridge for £7million, Glen Johnson for £6million.
Johnson's former West Ham team-mate Joe Cole is expected to sign for £6.6million.
