The manager of Lord Caledon’s private country estate in Northern Ireland has been killed while working on his land, it was confirmed yesterday.
Keith Willis, foreman of the 5,000-acre estate on the outskirts of the Co Tyrone village of Caledon, died in an incident while cutting down a tree.
The father of two was well known in the area, regularly running tours of the grounds that belong to Lord Caledon, Queen Elizabeth’s lord lieutenant for Armagh.
Jim Hamilton, an Ulster Unionist councillor from Aughnacloy and a friend of Mr Willis, said the community was in shock. A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive confirmed it was investigating.
