Minister for Enterprise Micheal Martin tomorrow begins a five-day IDA networking visit to the west coast of the US.
The minister and his officials will meet business representatives in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle.
More than 200 Irish companies now employ over 80,000 people across 50 US states.
Contracts worth 55 million euro for Irish firms in the US were signed during a corresponding trade mission last month to New York, Boston and Washington DC.
Mr Martin also visited France for a three-day networking visit last month which coincided with the France-Ireland Rugby World Cup clash.
Meanwhile Enterprise Ireland is planning a four-day trade mission to Egypt and Jordan in November.
The visit will focus on the telecoms, e-learning, banking and food processing industries.
Enterprise Ireland is also organising trade missions in coming weeks to new EU member states, Romania and Bulgaria next month which will focus on software, the environment, consultancy services and electronics.
