Thirty Irish companies are to take part in an Enterprise Ireland trade mission to South Africa.
The companies will hold trade events in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town. Several of the companies are already well established in the South African marketplace, which is worth €428 million in sales to the Irish economy.
The companies will be accompanied by Enterprise Ireland chief executive Frank Ryan and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin.
Mr Martin said: "One of the key objectives of this Enterprise Ireland trade mission is to assist Irish companies to win business in South Africa and, in particular, to actively explore the potential for developing mutually beneficial alliances between South African and Irish companies, as well as further strengthening existing relationships.
"It is also an opportunity to look more closely at the scope for developing greatly expanded commercial and trade links between our two countries and focus in particular on what can be identified as areas of significant future potential," he added.
