Gardaí have confirmed that decomposed remains found in a field were those of missing teenager Daniel McAnaspie.
The 17-year-old Dubliner suffered multiple stab wounds before his body was dumped in a drain on farmland in Co Meath.
The body's identity was confirmed after DNA tests were carried out.
A reward of €10,000 had been offered for information on the whereabouts of Daniel, who was last seen in the Whitestown area of Blanchardstown between 3.30am and 4am on Friday, February 26th.
The teenager's body was discovered in a drain on farmland at Gilliamstown, Rathfeigh, on Thursday.
A Garda spokesman said the case had been a major investigation from the start.
"Gardaí are renewing their appeal for anyone with information about the disappearance and subsequent discovery of Daniel's body to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda station," he said.
