Wayne McCullough's comeback has been postponed until a later date after the Belfast boxer injured his left hand during training.
The "Pocket Roacket" had lined up a bout with Uganda's John Mackay on Saturday, June 19th but that has now been cancelled.
The former world champion has already been out of the ring for over a year, his last fight was losing his world featherweight challenge to Scott Harrison in March 2003.
"It was an old problem which I aggravated in training and I will see a doctor in America before making any plans. I had a cortisone injection six weeks ago but my hand began to ache. I didn't want to go into the ring with a disadvantage," concluded McCullough who hopes to get back in the ring by August.
"Next summer will be 10 years ago since I was world champion and I want to be fighting for a world title again by then, possibly at super bantamweight," said McCullough on the BBC.
