New York - After 11 years claiming that its French fries were cooked in 100 per cent vegetable oil, McDonald's has admitted that the recipe for fries includes a very small amount of beef extract, writes Conor O'Clery.

This emerged after a law suit was filed by three vegetarians on May 1st charging McDonald's with fraudulently concealing the existence of beef in their French fries. The company acknowledged that "the natural flavouring contains a minuscule amount of beef extract".
