The PSNI is investigating an explosion at a McDonald's restaurant in Co Tyrone last night.

A firebomb partially exploded in a baby changing room in the fast food restaurant.

Two incendiary devices were also found in the McDonald's outlet in Cookstown, County Tyrone.

No-one was injured in the incident.

Restaurant staff found the devices inside a bin in the changing room. One of the devices had partially detonated but minimal damage had been caused.

Police Service of Northern Ireland Inspector Sue Steen said she could not fathom how anyone could leave bombs
in a place where they knew children would be.

"That room was in a restaurant used by families and children," she said.

"It doesn"t bear thinking about what might have happened if the restaurant had been filled with people, or
someone was in the room with a baby when they went off."

A similar device was discovered in a toy store in the town two weeks ago.
