Former Green Party MEP Patricia McKenny today opened her election campaign for a seat in the Dublin Central constituency.
Ms McKenna, who is hoping to win for the party in the Taoiseach's constituency, said Dublin Central would be "crucial" in the forthcoming election.
"While Dublin Central may be home to the most powerful man in the current government the constituency shows little signs of benefiting from this privilege," she said.
Ms McKenna said a key issue for the Green Party would be 'clean government' and that public confidence in the political system had been "brutally shattered" by recent scandals.
