Britain's Colin McRae scored his first win of the season at the Rally of Argentina today.
The Ford Focus driver and former world champion came in 26.9 seconds ahead of England's Richard Burns of Subaru and Spaniard Carlos Sainz at 1min 46.4sec in a Ford Focus.
Finland's Mitsubihsi Lancer driver Tommi Makinen holds the overall world championship lead. Four-time world champion Makinen finished in fourth position at 3min 12.6sec.
The flying Scot, who won the title in 1995 but has had a miserable start to the season without scoring a point, maintained the buffer he had build up over four days racing from Thursday.
Burns, who won the 18th and 19th special stages today, was unable to make any impression on 32-year-old McRae's lead with the Scot winning the 20th and 21st stages, the final two stages of the race.
The day's other stages went to Makinen and world champion Marcus Gronholm driving a Peugeot.
However Gronholm was forced out of the remainder of the race with engine trouble and will miss the last three specials. -AFP
