British Horseracing Board officials have announced they are to cancel the fixtures scheduled for Pontefract, Southwell and Exeter on April 9th, the date of the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
Board chairman Peter Savill said: "Everybody involved in our sport is immensely proud of the very special relationship which the Queen Mother had with racing.
"The British Horseracing Board considers it wholly appropriate to make a speedy decision to cancel fixtures on the day of her funeral.
"All in racing will have the opportunity to pay their respects to one of our sport's most important and best-loved figures."
