Two men have been arrested following the murder of a 52-year-old man in Derry at the weekend.
The murder hunt was begun after a post-mortem was carried out on the body of Mr Frankie Kerr, who lived alone in a flat at Drumleck Drive, in the Shantallow area of the city. Mr Kerr's body was found in a first-floor bedroom of his flat by fire officers who had been called to tackle a fire in his home just before midnight on Saturday.
Following a post-mortem on Sunday evening, the RUC said it believed Mr Kerr had been murdered. An RUC spokesman said the two men were arrested early yesterday morning. "They are both in custody assisting us with our investigations into the matter."
