US technology company MICROS Systems will create 180 jobs in Galway as part of its global strategy of establishing large regional support centres.
MICROS supplies information systems such as central reservation for the hospitality industry.
The jobs will be in technical support, administration and treasury operations. The new facility will initially have responsibility for customer support in Britain and Ireland and the company’s new Opera suite of products throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The company employs over 2,500 people globally and had sales of over $325 million for the year ended June 2001.
