Mid-day Messiah

All we, like sheep - if we're Handel fans, at any rate - should flock to Fishamble Street pretty sharpish on Monday at noon

All we, like sheep - if we're Handel fans, at any rate - should flock to Fishamble Street pretty sharpish on Monday at noon. The annual outdoor performance of favourite choruses from Handel's Messiah by Our Lady's Choral Society, conducted by Proinnsias O'Duinn (above), on the site of the first performance of the oratorio in 1742, is just about the only Handel on offer in Dublin at the moment thanks to the temporary - we hope - demise of the Handel festival, which brought a veritable feast of Handel to Dublin last April.

Meanwhile, Our Lady's will bring a touch of Easter glory to Temple Bar with Glory To God, And The Glory Of The Lord, Worthy Is The Lamb and, of course, the Allelujah.
