Milan swooped to the lead at the furlong marker to run out an ultra impressive five-length winner of the St Leger at Doncaster today.
Michael Kinane was content to bide his time on 13 to 8 favourite and he found a devastating turn of foot at the furlong maker to claim Demophilos - who had nicked three-lengths when kicking early in the straight.
Demophilos stayed on to claim second while Mr Combustible was third.
Vinnie Roe came with a powerful surge to land the Jefferson Smurfit Irish St Leger for Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen at the Curragh.
Smullen launched his challenge on the Definite Article colt with and furlong and a half to go and the pair headed Millenary (9/4f) inside the final 150 yards to record a decisive two-length victory, at 5-1, in the final Classic of the season.
Marienbard finished third for Godolphin with long-time leader Persian Punch back in fourth in the 1m6f contest.
