Domestic milk intake by creameries and pasteurisers is down 0.7 per cent on figures for last July, according to figures released today by the Central Statistics Office.
Domestic milk intake was estimated as 617.6 million litres for July 2007.
Comparing figures for July last year, total milk sold for human consumption increased by 1.4 per cent, however, to 43.9 million litres, while butter production was up 9.5 per cent to 17,300 tonnes.
