Minister boosts funding for child counselling

The Government will today increase funding to two children's counselling services.

The Government will today increase funding to two children's counselling services.

The Minister for Social and Family Affairs, Ms Mary Coughlan, will present two cheques totalling €224,000 to  two organisations under the Marriage, Child and Bereavement Counselling grants scheme.

Rainbows Ireland, an organisation, which runs counselling services aimed at children who have experienced bereavement or parental separation, will receive €100,000.

Barnardos children's charity, which works with over 12,000 children and families in the Republic, will  receive €124,200.
