The Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr O'Donoghue, yesterday declined to express a view on whether the Government should aim to roll back the decision in the X case or legislate for its full implications.
Asked for his opinion at a press conference yesterday, he said he believed the approach of the Minister for Health, Mr Cowen, as outlined to the Dail on Tuesday, was correct.
"He has made it clear that there is going to be a referendum. There will be full discussion during which we will try to get consensus, there will be a Green Paper and then this will be referred to the Constitution Review Group."
