A one-minute silence will be observed at all eircom League matches this weekend as a mark of respect to the late Dr Brendan Menton who passed away yesterday.
Dr Menton, a former President of the Football Association of Ireland and UEFA Committee member, was described by the FAI’s Milo Corcoran as an inspirational figure in the Association.
Corcoran, current FAI president, said: "The game of football in Ireland has lost a great man and a great lover of the game.
"His positive influence on the game over many years will continue to be felt by generations to come."
