The death has taken place of Lady Miranda Iveagh (Miranda Guinness) at the age of 70.
A short statement from the Iveagh family said the Countess of Iveagh died peacefully today at her home in Wiltshire after a long illness.
Miranda married Arthur Francis Benjamin Guinness, 3rd Earl of Iveagh, in 1963. He was chairman of Guinness from 1965 to 1995.
Members of Dublin's most famous brewing dynasty turned out in the capital just last August to celebrate Lady Miranda's 70th birthday.

Speaking on that occasion, Lady Miranda said: “I have to admit, it’s been a privilege to be part of this family. I’m very much at home in Dublin.”
She is survived by her sons Edward and Rory, her daughters, Emma and Louisa, and her nine grandchildren.
