A missing 13-year-old Dublin girl has been found safe in Cork. Mandi Nalika, from the Congo, was reported missing on Tuesday evening after it emerged she did not arrive at her secondary convent school in Stanhope Street, Dublin. She had not been seen since she left her home at Heuston Square, Inchicore, at 8.30 a.m. on that day.
However, gardai in Cork city gave a girl matching her description directions to a Southern Health Board hostel on Tuesday evening, and subsequently identified her from an internal Garda bulletin. She was collected from the hostel yesterday morning and reunited with her mother. The teenager arrived from the Congo with her family 2 1/2 years ago. It is believed she travelled by bus to Cork.
