A mobile phone with a TV camera is on show at the Tokyo Business Show 2001.
The P2101V handset has been developed by NTT DoCoMo, who says it also offers fast-speed data and image transmission.
The new product gives visitors an insight into the mobile phone service of the future.
In April NTT DoCoMo announced it was delaying by four months the commercial launch of the world's first third-generation mobile phone network.
The Japanese group said the launch date is being pushed back to October 1st from May 30th because further tests are needed to ensure the 100 per cent stability of the network.
The company has also joined forces with AOL to launch a co-branded mobile e-mail service on June 1st.
AOL will give Japanese consumers the option of accessing e-mail accounts both on the move or from their PCs.
