London - Dr Harold Shipman (52) has been charged with murdering two more of his women patients, bringing the total of murder charges to eight.
Dr Shipman, who ran a one-man practice in Hyde in Greater Manchester, was charged with killing Jean Lilley (59), in Hyde on 25th April, 1997, and Irene Turner (67), also in Hyde, on 11th July, 1996.
The decision to issue new charges was taken after the bodies of the two women were exhumed from the local cemetery for post-mortem examinations by a Home Office pathologist.
