Motorcyclist killed in Cork road crash

A motorcyclist was killed after his bike left the road and hit a concrete bollard in Co Cork earlier today

A motorcyclist was killed after his bike left the road and hit a concrete bollard in Co Cork earlier today. The incident occurred at Dunkettle, Glanmire at 12.20pm.

The 39-year-old man's body has been removed to Cork University Hospital for a post mortem examination. There were no other persons or vehicles involved.

Gardai are today also investigating a single vehicle road crash in Co Cavan in which a woman was killed.

The driver of the car - believed to be in her 70's - was fatally injured when her car left the Ballinagh Road and hit a wall shortly before 5pm yesterday.
