Boston - Lawyers for Ms Louise Woodward's appeal fund are to take expert advice to "protect the interests" of its trustees amid allegations that the former au pair's mother defrauded them with a false bill.
A police investigation has already been launched into the claims, believed to relate to an invoice for more than £9,000 which Ms Susan Woodward submitted for accommodation at the home of American lawyer Ms Elaine Whitfield Sharp.
A judge in Boston, Massachusetts, has ruled that a trial should be held in January to assess punitive damages being claimed by the parents of Matthew Eappen, the baby Ms Woodward was convicted of killing.
