A man appeared in a British court today on charges of murdering five women.
Steve Wright (49) denies killing Gemma Adams, Tania Nicol, Anneli Alderton, Paula Clennell and Annette Nicholls in 2006.
Their naked bodies were found dumped at rural locations around the eastern town of Ipswich in Suffolk.
The trial at Ipswich Crown Court is expected to last up to eight weeks.
The bodies were discovered in the space of just 11 days.
Detectives opened an investigation on December 2nd, 2006, when the body of Ms Adams (25) was found in a stream. The body of Ms Nicol (19), last seen at the end of October and the first to be reported missing, was discovered in the same stream six days later.
The bodies of the other three - Ms Alderton (24), who was three months pregnant; Ms Clennell (24); and Ms Nicholls (29) were found over the next four days.
