Gardaí in Dublin have launched a murder inquiry after a Chinese man who was attacked died in hospital this afternoon.
Mr Chen Li Ming (22), who was living in Bray, was admitted to Beaumount Hospital after an assault in Crumlin early on Wednesday morning.
The victim is understood to have suffered a severe head injury but managed to call to a house on Captain's Road to seek help.
He was taken by taxi to St James's hospital but last night he was transferred to Beaumont where he died this afternoon.
It is understood the deceased had attended a party and had been attacked shortly after leaving the party.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information, particularly from members of the Chinese community and from taxi and hackney drivers who might have been working in the area at the time.
