Motorists were warned of major traffic disruption today on one of the main routes into Dublin after a major crash last night.
The N11 was closed in both directions at the Ballinamessada Bends south of Wicklow town. AA Roadwatch said the road has now fully reopened. While all diversions have been lifted, it may take some time for delays to ease.
Three people were seriously injured in the crash last night. They were taken to St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin.
A broken down car just after the Beehive added to problems this morning, causing northbound traffic to come to a standstill.
Traffic will be disrupted this weekend on the N11 because of the closure of a section of the road near Bray to allow for construction works.
The road between Wilford Road junction and Killarney Road junction will be closed from 8pm this Saturday until 2pm on Sunday to facilitate construction of the Enniskerry Road footbridge at Kilcroney.
Motorists are being advised by Wicklow County Council and the National Roads Authority to avoid the area unless their journeys are absolutely necessary.
Diversions will be put in place for motorists who need to use the route.
