With the Winter Games melting from our memories and no more curling to keep us company through the wee small hours, Konami has again come up with an Olympic package to help ease the withdrawal symptoms.
The sports included are downhill, giant slalom and freestyle skiing, ski jumping (K-90 and K-120), snow boarding (halfpipe and slalom), curling, bobsleigh (fourman), luge (single) and speedskating (500 metres and 1,500 metres).
You can compete in an Olympic or Championship mode. In Olympic mode the goal is to win gold in your chosen event while in Championship you compete in seven events and are awarded a medal based on your total points scored.
To master these different events you will also have to master the controller, as each event requires a different set of skills. Speed and power won't get you very far in curling and a good aim won't win you the 500 metre speedskating. Nagano Winter Olympics 1998 makes a valiant attempt at most sports and its variety of gameplay offers plenty of replay value. It's an ideal game for a get-together as its real strength lies in the multiplayer option. But even if you're not a team player, it's still worth taking part.
