The National Association for Deaf People has said that Deaf Awareness Week this week provides an opportunity to raise issues which are often overlooked but are of vital importance to people who are hard of hearing. It will also provide a focus to develop general awareness about hearing impairment. A new national headquarters for the association has been opened in North Frederick Street, Dublin, and a number of events will be held throughout the week. On Saturday the Irish Tinnitus Association will hold a meeting in Wynn's Hotel in Dublin at 12.30 p.m.
