Irish superstar Liam Neeson will today celebrate the success of a charity push that has raised millions for impoverished children around the world.

Neeson has been the public face of the Change for Good programme that has asked passengers on Aer Lingus flights to donate unwanted foreign currency.

The Ballymena-born actor and Unicef Ireland ambassador will today announce details of the charitable project's success over the 10 years it has been in operation.

Change for Good is the in-flight collection of foreign notes and coins on all Aer Lingus long-haul flights, which are then used to support Unicef's programmes for children in 156 countries worldwide.

Organisers say the programme has received tremendous support from Aer Lingus passengers since it was launched 10 years ago with half of all passengers donating.
