Nelson family to push Ahern for inquiry

The family of Rosemary Nelson, who was killed in loyalist car bomb attack in 1999, are expected to press for a full public inquiry into her death when they meet the Taoiseach this afternoon.

The high-profile human rights lawyer was killed on March 15th 1999 when an under-car device exploded as she drove from her Lurgan home in Co Armagh.

In his first meeting with the family Mr Ahern will meet Ms Nelson's sister, mother and brother at Government Buildings in Dublin at 5.30 p.m. Ms Nelson's widower is unable to attend, said a Government spokeswoman.

The family's legal team along with Ms Jane Winters from the British-Irish Rights Watch and Mr Paul Mageean of the Committee on Administration of Justice will also attend the meeting which is expected to last about an hour.
