Police investigating the murder of solicitor Mrs Rosemary Nelson arrested another four men today.

The four, aged 21, 31, 32 and 33, were detained in an operation this morning in the Portadown area, Co Armagh.

All were being questioned at Lisburn police station, Co Antrim, about serious crime not connected with the murder of Mrs Nelson, who died in a loyalist booby-trap bomb explosion in Lurgan, near Portadown, in March 1999.

The investigation into the killing is being headed by Mr Colin Port, deputy chief constable of Norfolk. No one has yet been charged with the murder.

Yesterday Mr Port's team arrested a 41-year-old top loyalist at his home in Portadown. He was still being questioned today.

A 60-year-old man, arrested by the Port team in Portadown last week and charged with possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition, was due to appear before Craigavon Magistrates Court, Co Armagh, again today.
