Internet service provider, Mediasat, is to create 20 technology jobs in Cork.
The company, which already employs 16 people, said it will be taking on the new staff in "an expansion programme to roll out its broadband platform".The Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, Mr Dermot Ahern, said the new jobs were evidence of an upswing in the market, particularly in the southwest region.Mr Ahern said: "I am particularly impressed with the company’s strategy of targeting the more remote locations and its efforts are very timely in the context of our EU Presidency and the prominent debate about the broadband haves and have-nots".
