Details of a proposed new bridge over the Liffey were announced yesterday by Dublin Corporation.
It will be between the Matt Talbot Memorial Bridge and the East Link Toll Bridge and will link Macken Street on the south side to Guild Street on the north.
The corporation describes the bridge as "highly original and innovative in design and concept". It says it will "make a striking architectural statement in the Docklands area".
The bridge was commissioned from the architect-engineer, Dr Santiago Calatrava Valls, who designed the bridge for Blackhall Place which went on display earlier this year.
A model and design display of the bridge is available in the Civic Offices Atrium at Wood Quay in Dublin 8. Public consultations will start next week.
