A new children's centre to be built in Stillorgan, Dublin, and part-funded by the National Millennium Committee has been welcomed as providing a positive response to the current childcare crisis. It will provide year-round care and support facilities for up to 40 children a day and is due to open next June.
The Minister of State, Mr Seamus Brennan, chairman of the Millennium Committee, said the centre would become a national role model for other communities.
The Rev Alastair Graham, rector of St Brigid's, where it will be built, paid tribute to Mr Brennan for adopting the centre as a special millennium project.
