A postal facility in Jersey City, New Jersey, was evacuated this morning after the discovery of a suspicious powdery substance, the local fire department said on local radio.
The suspicious powder had already been tested and was not ricin, a fire department official said on WINS radio. He said it was still being tested to see if the substance was anthrax.
Earlier this week, a postal facility in southern New Jersey was shut down over the discovery of a suspicious white powder.
The incident in Monroe Township, however, turned out to be a false alarm.
