The Irish-born author Bram Stoker is honoured in four new stamps launched by An Post yesterday which feature his creation, Dracula. The stamps commemorate the 150th anniversary of Stoker's birth and will go on sale in post offices on Wednesday, October 1st.
They feature the vampire in different poses: in his Transylvanian castle; nuzzling the neck of Lucy; hiding in the woods at midnight and rising from a coffin.
Launching the stamps, the Minister of State at the Department of Public Enterprise, Mr Joe Jacob, said it was fitting that a man who "succeeded in capturing the world's imagination" should be honoured by a commemorative stamp issue.
