Newbridge, Co Kildare, is celebrating a double after residents hit the Lotto jackpot twice in three days.
The winning tickets in both Wednesday's and Saturday's draws were bought in the town.
One was a £1.50 "quick pick" ticket bought in O'Brien's Spar, Moorfield, Newbridge, while the other was a £6 syndicate ticket sold in O'Connor's shop in the town.
The holders of the quickpick ticket, a couple who wish to remain anonymous, collected a cheque for £1,500,299 at Lotto headquarters yesterday afternoon. Saturday night's jackpot winnings of £1 million have not yet been picked up, but a syndicate of 17, mostly Bord na Mona employees, began celebrating over the weekend.
