Journalist Darwin Templeton has been appointed the new editor of the Belfast newspaper the News Letter.
The acting editor of Ulster Television's current affairs Insightprogramme takes up the post next month, replacing Austin Hunter, who stood down earlier this year.
Aged 36, he is believed to be the youngest ever editor of the paper, one the world's oldest continually published English language newspapers. It began publication in 1737 and is now owned by Johnston Press.
Templeton joined UTV in 2001, where he worked as a news reporter before joining the Insight current affairs programme three years ago.
He has also amassed wide experience in the newspaper industry since entering the Belfast Telegraphas a graduate trainee in 1991.
He became news editor of the Sunday Lifein 1996, before becoming Northern Ireland correspondent of the News of the Worldand the Sunand then returning to the Belfast Telegraphas chief reporter.
He has a reputation for investigative reporting and last year his Insightprogramme on child killer Robert Howard won a Royal Television Society Award.
