The Assets Recovery Agency in Northern Ireland has begun steps to seize a farm, livestock and houses in Co Derry that it suspects are the proceeds of drug dealing.
It revealed it had successfully applied in the High Court for an Interim Receiving Order in respect of property in the Limavady area.
The assets are worth are over £400,000, said the agency, which is modelled on the Criminal Assets Bureau in the Republic.
A receiver has been appointed to take control of the assets in the area that the agency believes are the proceeds of unlawful conduct. Yesterday the receiver took action to enforce the order and had begun an investigation, it added.
The agency was established last year to crack down on the activities of paramilitary groups and crime gangs. A series of asset seizures have been made in the past 12 months, amounting to millions of pounds.
