BANK HOLIDAY weekend travellers can expect no let up from the wet weather over the break.
Met Éireann says that while there will be sunny spells in the eastern half of the country this morning, heavy showers will spread from the west to all areas in the afternoon. Saturday night and Sunday will see some prolonged heavy showers, though Sunday afternoon will have some bright spells.
Those attending and playing in Croke Park will be disappointed with the rain but have some consolation that wind should not be a significant factor.
Monday will be better but there will be showers interspersed with dry, bright weather and the temperature possibly reaching 20 degrees in the south. Tuesday will see the heavy rain returning again.
