A Belfast Crown Court jury failed to reach a decision yesterday in the case of a man accused of sexually abusing his younger sister 20 years ago.
The 37-year-old father of two, who cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim, had denied a total of 10 charges of indecent assault and inciting a child to commit acts of gross indecency between 1976 and 1981. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on any of the charges and the defendant was released on continuing bail until a date is set for a retrial.
